This is a funny one. Seems that Altamont isn't technically a city but part of nearby Klamath Falls. One of the most interesting things from our perspective about this area is that they use geo-thermal heat in many places (just like in Iceland!) In fact the Ella Redkey Pool is an outdoor swimming pool that is geo thermally heated and open year round. That sounds really nice! There are a lot of other outdoor enthusiasts opportunities here as well like golfing, birdwatching and plenty of open spaces and trails for cross country skiing, cycling and snowshoeing in winter. Crater Lake National Park with the beautiful Klamath Falls is just 60 miles away. If the arts are your thing, the Ross Ragland Theater (a refurbished 1940's movie house) has something for everyone. Broadway, dance, concerts and festivals.
